COURSE OUTLINE

Who Should Enrol Into This Qualification?

Mint Training delivers the Certificate II in Retail to new entrant employees who are entering the retail industry. This course is designed as a pathway into the retail industry.

Students/employees will learn the skills to improve the business bottom line such as:

  1. Increasing sales
  2. Providing product and service advice in a retail store
  3. Selling products and services in variety of retail settings
  4. Operating a checkout area
  5. Checking stock and replenishing retail shelves
  6. Organising and maintaining work areas and displays
  7. Store, rotate and replenish food stock

The course is aimed at people who do the following jobs:

  • Sales assistant
  • Customer service representative
  • Checkout operator

Delivery Methods

  • Distance – preferably online or with workbooks
  • Students to complete reading and required work either via the online portal or with their workbook
  • Students complete project work and withdrawal log
  • Trainer will have monthly contact with the student and the workplace supervisor
  • Trainer can assess on site, provide tasks and time frames to be completed, provide support and assistance, and follow up on progress between visits
  • Classroom – as above however the reading / workbook will be completed in class

Qualification Rules

To achieve a Certificate II in Retail, 14 units must be completed:

  • 9 Core units
  • 5 elective units
