Minister to Launch Mint Training Program

Posted: 15th august 2009

The Hon Peter Collier MP (WA Minister for Training) has opened the official Mint Group launch for the Hyatt Regency Perth training program. This is the first Hyatt in Australia to launch the Pacific School of Hospitality (PSOH). The program is an initiative between the Mint Group, Hyatt Hotels Australia and the Department of Education and Training and emphasizes a continued focus on employee training and customer service.

The Minister addressed the many guests in attendance and outlined the continued importance of joint training partnerships such as the one between Mint Group and Hyatt. This was the major theme of the evening and was highlighted by Mint Group Director Tony Fritsche during his speech “This exciting program will provide continuous learning for staff development and motivation as well as a nationally recognized training qualification.”

The program will involve over 1000 staff members at more than seven Hyatt locations nationally. Many of the WA students were in attendance and had an opportunity to not only meet the Minister, but were officially presented their training workbooks. WA Training Industry leaders and PSOH students mingled throughout the evening and were joined by Hyatt Regency Perth General Manager, Mr. Robert Dawson who outlined in his address the significance of ongoing employee training programs.
